London Travels!

We’re back! This week I will be posting about the different cities we visited. Here are some of my favorite things we did in London:

1. We hit the tourist sites {the Tower Bridge, Parliament and Westminster Abbey}. While at Westminster Abbey we heard the buzz about the royal wedding and the plans for the ceremony!

2. We walked around South Kensington. During my senior year at Vanderbilt, I lived in South Kensington for one semester. I was really excited to show Blake around a familiar part of town! We ate at my favorite restaurant, window shopped in the stores on Kings Road {including some adorable wedding shops}, and gazed at the gorgeous flats.

3. We went to Buckingham Palace. While we were walking around the palace, we noticed there were a ton of people waiting outside. A police man quickly pushed us behind a barrier. Little did we know, we got there right in time to see the changing of the guards ceremony that people had been lining up for hours to see.

4. We walked through the Portobello Market in Notting Hill. On Saturdays, Portobello Road turns into an antique market filled with different carrells, music, and food.

5. We went to Harrods. This high-end department store has one million square feet of selling space. While walking through the store, we saw a couple registering for their wedding. I can’t even imagine how overwhelming that is given the size of the store. I was overwhelmed registering at Bloomingdales in NYC, but Harrods is way bigger!

 6. We enjoyed the night life! I made sure to have something fun planned for each night. We went to the oldest pub in Covent Garden, experienced the Ice Bar, rode the London Eye, and had an amazing dinner at a North African restaurant.
