It is so strange how we can become attached to something that isn't real. Last night, tons of OTH fans said goodbye to a show they had been watching for 9 seasons. I have been watching OTH since I was 15, and continued watching up until last night (I can't decide if that makes me an immature 24 year old or just a dedicated fan). The series finale was about growing up and how time flies without you even realizing it. This was summed up in a re-occurring quote by Nathan throughout the last episode:
“It’s the oldest story in the world, one day you’re seventeen and planning for someday, and then quietly and without you ever really noticing, someday is today, and then someday is yesterday, and this is your life.”
Growing up watching One Tree Hill, I felt all kinds of emotions through the characters. I watched them go through break ups, make ups, and tough times. Last night after the finale, I started thinking about all the times OTH made me happy and how real the characters felt. Kayln and I used to sit in our tiny room in London watching marathons of episodes and talking about the characters as if they were our friends. Here are some of my favorite quotes over the years:
“It’s funny how our past frames us. How the person we used to be never lets lose of the person we are. Past failures and disappointments even victories take hold of us. They haunt us like ghosts or visit us like old friends.”
"Do you ever wonder if we make the moments in our life or if the moments in our lives make us?"
"Somebody told me that this is the place where everything's better and everything's safe."
"At this moment, there are 6 billion, 4 hundred, 71 million, 8 hundred, 18 thousand, 6 hundred, 71 people in the world. Some are running scared.. some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day.. others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men at war with good, and some are good.. struggling with evil. 6 billion people in the world, 6 billion souls -- and sometimes...all you need is 1."
And then finally a quote that brought Lucas and Peyton together in my all time favorite episode when the Ravens won the State Championship...
"Alright, imagine a future moment in your life where all your dreams come true. You know, it's the greatest moment in your life and you get to experience it with one person. Who's standing next to you?"
Oh the memories....

I would say dedicated fan for sure! I'm right there with you!
I agree with you on all of this! I went to school in Wilmington and seeing OTH filming on occasion was the most fun, especially after watching it for several seasons prior to college. I love your blog by the way, so glad I found you! xx.
